The designer’s graduate collection, ‘Remember Me Knot’, is influenced by her personal encounter with Alzheimer’s disease.

Focusing on the gradual loss of brain activity and functioning into the isolated world of Alzheimer’s, this collection is inspired by the traumatic and life changing experience of living with the disease that strips an individual from themselves, their memories and life as they know it.

Concentrating particularly on the effect of the disease on the brain the collection focuses on the deterioration of mind and memory. The collection explores the fluidity of forgetfulness and the concentrated moments of memories still remembered.

As a designer Nadia feel’s most inspired by the people she meets and the lives they lead. The designer’s Grandmother and Great Grandmother both suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. Nadia’s lack of understanding towards the disease influenced the decision to develop Alzheimer’s as the concept for her graduate collection.
